Seafirst & ICBC Clients: COVID-19 Safe Operating Guidelines

At SeaFirst, we have learned a lot about how to protect our staff and all our clients including our ICBC clients during the COVID-19 pandemic.  As we have re-opened many of our offices to the public, we have implemented several measures to ensure the safety of all those who either work or come to our offices for insurance purposes. While each location may have a few different measures in place, general guidelines that pertain to all open locations are as follows:

COVID-19 GENERAL OPERATING GUIDELINES:

  • A posted list of physical symptoms and other conditions which prevent you from entering the office
  • Clients must wait in line outside the office until it is their turn to enter
  • A specified number of maximum clients will be permitted at a time
  • Only those who are directly involved in a transaction will be allowed to enter
  • Sanitize hands upon entering the office
  • Clients are required to sit during their transaction
  • All desks, chairs, door handles, pens, and pin pads are sanitized between transactions
  • Maintain a 6-foot distance between all persons in the building

WHAT TO BRING FOR YOUR AUTOPLAN TRANSACTION

To serve customers efficiently, we ask that clients come prepared for their transactions.  Please ensure you have the following items when attending the office:

  • BC Drivers license or primary ID
  • All necessary documentation – if you are unsure which documents you will need, you can call the office or e-mail info@seafirstinsurance.com
  • A photo of your odometer reading if the vehicle is driven less than 5,000 km annually

When visiting our office, please keep in mind that all COVID-19 General Operating Guidelines as outlined above must be adhered to including the following guidelines:

  • A maximum number of clients will be permitted in the office at one time
  • No Transfers of Insurance will be started after 4:15 pm
  • No ICBC transactions will be started after 4:30 pm
  • No Driver Services transactions will be started after 4:30 pm

LOOKING TO RENEW YOUR DRIVERS LICENSE?

Our Salt Spring Island office is now open for Driver Services transactions, however, there is currently no knowledge testing or road testing available at this location.  Please ensure that you bring both a primary and secondary piece of ID.

For more information on what is required for Driver Services transactions visit ICBC’s Website.

Please Note: To complete any ICBC transactions you will need access to e-mail.  You will also need to have your driver’s license and registration paperwork available.  During this time, policy documents and signatures will be accepted via e-mail with original documents and decals being mailed directly to the client.

We have gone to great lengths to ensure the safety of both our staff and clients to continue providing our services to the public safely and professionally. We would like to thank everyone for their patience during these challenging times and look forward to serving your insurance needs!
