Prevention is the first step in improving your home’s odds in the event of a wildfire. It can be as simple as the type of plants in your garden, regular maintenance around your property, and choosing fire rated materials. Each step contributes to the safety of your home during wildfire season.

Regular maintenance can help fireproof your home!

Gutters
Cleaning your gutters and removing debris regularly means less material for embers to ignite
Chimney
Make sure your chimney is clear and inspected.
Roof
Consider your roofing material rating. A1 rated materials include asphalt and metal roofs.
Siding
Just like roofing has a ranking system, so does siding! Think stucco, cement, and brick for enhanced protection.
Vents
Ventilation packed with gunk can be a recipe for disaster, especially with a wildfire burning nearby.
